HKS developed the original Racing Muffler for the GT-R for 1000+ horse-power applications. However with such low exhaust back-pressure the exhaust was extremely loud. To improve on that design and make the system a bit more usable HKS added a resonator and sound chamber while still allowing this exhaust to perform at an extremely high level.

Since this exhaust uses a large 4 inch main diameter it includes the y-center-pipe to perfectly made to the down-pipes of the HKS GT1000 kit it was designed to pair with.
